Creative Harvest 2020 Bus Tours

Bus tours will run on Saturday and Sunday and tickets include entry to five gardens, morning tea and lunch as well as all travel. Relax as you are taken on a scenic tour of Gippsland with a bus host to look after all your needs and point out things of interest along the way.

  Saturday 18th Bus Tour

Bus leaves Warragul Railway Station carpark near Goods Shed at 9.30 am and returns 4.20 pm.

Route:   Yarragon, Moe South, Childers, Yarragon South, Warragul

Distance: ~100 km

Driving time:  just over 2 hrs 

Time at gardens:  nearly 5 hrs ~  1 hour per garden on average

This tour starts by driving along the Princes Highway to Yarragon with a quick stop at Fozigobble café to pick up lunch boxes, then continuing to the first garden at Moe South. A morning cuppa will be provided in John and Jan’s spacious garden and entertaining area. A scenic drive through the hilly country of the Strzelecki Ranges through the potato farming area around Thorpdale brings you to the Bates Homestead at Childers, a new garden set amongst farmland.  Another drive through small farms and bushland, including remnants of the tall Mountain Ash forests and fern gullies takes you to Eurabbie at Yarragon South. This garden and the nearby garden at The Edge are situated on the front of the Strzelecki Ranges with fine views to the valley below and across to the Baw Baw Ranges. Lunch will be eaten in the shady, well established garden at Eurabbie and people may choose to walk the short distance to The Edge. Leaving Yarragon South the bus will wind down the hill to Yarragon giving attractive views across the farmland towards Warragul. The tour will visit Yvonne’s Patch in Warragul, a small town garden that has great ideas for a productive use of space, before returning to Warragul railway station.

    Sunday 19th Bus Tour 

Bus leaves Warragul Railway Station carpark near Goods Shed at 9.30 am and returns 4.20 pm.

Route:  Yarragon, Willow Grove, Jindivick, Lillico, Warragul.

Distance: ~100 km

Driving time:  1 hr 45 mins 

Time at gardens:  5 hrs ~ 1 hour per garden on average

This tour starts by driving along the Princes Highway to Yarragon with a quick stop at Fozigobble café to pick up lunch boxes. The drive on to Willow Grove leaves the highway at Trafalgar and heads north with a gradual ascent from the farms on the Trafalgar flats up to Willow Grove, where Hygge is situated on the edge of Blue Rock dam, a large water body used for domestic water supplies and recreation. It’s only a short drive to the second garden at Willow Grove, Gado Gado, which is set amongst farmland with a large revegetated bush section. The drive to Jindivick is through prime dairying country along a plateau with attractive vistas and the Baw Baw Ranges beyond. Lunch will be eaten at Graham and Tessa’s garden, which has sculptures, large trees and water views. It’s only a short drive to Jindi Free Range Eggs where the farm and large vegetable garden will provide lots of interest. The last garden at Lillico, an attractive and productive garden on a lifestyle block is on the return drive to Warragul Station.
